Cosmetic Nose Surgery - FAQ's

Serving all of Michigan

Are the results of nose surgery permanent?

Yes. The nose does not change significantly due to natural aging or other lifestyle changes, so unless you suffer some trauma to the nose, your new sculpted nose should be yours for life.

How long is the recovery period following nose surgery?

This, of course, will depend on a number of individual factors, including your unique physiology and healing abilities, as well as the type of procedure you've had. However, as a general guideline, most patients are able to return to work and other relatively non-strenuous activities within one to three weeks, and make a full return to normal activities within about six weeks after the surgery.

Will I have scarring?

If you've had a closed nose surgery, you will not have any visible scarring at all. If you've had an open nose surgery, you will have a small scar on the underside of the nose, across the columela (the area between your nostrils). This scar is usually very minor, and is not visible in normal circumstances.

What are the risks of nose surgery?

Most of the risks of nose surgery are general risks associated with any surgical procedure.

Risks specific to the nose surgery procedure include the visible scarring along the columela and minor defects to the nose, which can be repaired with corrective surgery.
